Ariel asked me to look at the Village Yarn Shop for yarn she has on order elsewhere (back-ordered) and on the website I found a link to The Dizzy Sheep, which features a Daily Dizzy Deal, an an entertaining blog.
Enjoy!
I'm starting a new netted rope piece this weekend that will likely be for fall - I don't know if it's for me or for sale yet, but I'll post a photo as soon as it's done.

Just getting started...
I've been thinking about starting a blog to post some jewelry designs for a while. Well, it's easy enough to the the thing started, but what should I say?
OK, a little about me. I love jewelry. All kinds of it. It doesn't necessarily need to be "fine" jewelry, just something pretty that completes the look I might be going for on a given day. Maybe it's something sentimental - you know, a charm left over from a favorite childhood bracelet that I just couldn't give up or a pin that my grandma used to wear.
My mom made most of my clothes when I was a child and I loved having things that were different from everyone else's. Same with accessories - I didn't want something that looked like everything that was in the stores, so I made some belts, macrame stuff, some necklaces. All this lasted until I had my own family and jewelry creativity got brushed aside...though it did not go away entirely. About ten or more years ago, I started to buy the odd strand of beads, or a few unusual buttons and I always had the idea in the back of my head that I'd "do something" with them one of these days.

About five years ago, I began to play with the beads and I haven't stopped since! Here are a few photos of work that I done. I'll post more as the blog develops.
